Adega Regional de Colares

Lisboa

About

Colares, Portugal’s westernmost wine region since 1908, boasts sandy soils shaped by Atlantic winds. Vines are protected by hand-made palisades, crafting a unique landscape akin to a honeycomb. Traditional methods guide vine planting and nurturing, resulting in wines celebrated for their distinctiveness.

Colares red wine, primarily ‘Ramisco,’ matures into a tawny hue with complex aromas after aging. Colares white wine, featuring ‘Malvasia de Colares,’ offers a light-greenish-yellow hue and a fruity-floral aroma. Produced in limited quantities at the cooperative winery, these wines embody Colares’ rich heritage and terroir, a rare and cherished taste of this extraordinary region.
