About

At Adega Viúva Gomes, our wines embody our passion and reflect our personalities, tastes, and beliefs. As a project of the fourth and fifth generations of our family, father and son work together to safeguard the Colares Region. We are dedicated to preserving our wines as classics while embracing a creative spirit for new discoveries. Our commitment extends to exploring and crafting in order to maintain the unique character of this exceptional wine-growing region.

Established in 1808, Adega Viúva Gomes is situated in Almoçageme within the Colares wine-growing region, a distinctive terroir along the coast of Sintra, between hills and the Atlantic Ocean. Spanning from the Cape of Roca to Magoito, with elevations ranging from 30m to 200m, the region is characterized by steep cliffs overlooking the ocean. The combination of a semi-arid coastal climate and a moderately humid climate towards Sintra’s hills creates a microclimate that blocks north winds and encourages the influence of sea humidity.
