Quinta de São José de Peramanca, located 5 km from Evora on highway 114, boasts a baroque manor house and São José church, marking its 34-acre property. The name “Peramanca” refers to oscillating granite stones in the region. Historically renowned for quality wine, the area earned the title “Land of Peramanca.” In the late 19th century, phylloxera impacted wine cultivation, reducing vineyards to our farm’s terroir. Today, João Grave oversees Pêra-Grave wines, the last fruits of this unique terroir with a granite mantle 1.5 to 2 meters deep, explaining the historical virtuosity even without irrigation systems.
