Porto Réccua

“Family of families” is the spirit guiding Porto Réccua Vinhos, created from Caves Vale do Rodo in Régua. Founded in 2013, Porto Réccua Vinhos manages the commercial side of the bottled wines produced by its parent company, with the majority of the capital held by the Caves and the rest by partners and workers, totaling 200 shareholders. The cooperative, with around 800 winegrowers, produces grapes for Porto Réccua’s brands: Réccua Porto, Réccua Douro, and Réccua Cocktails. Cabeça de Burro, a brand from Caves Vale do Rodo, has a rich history dating back to 1959. Named after a legend of a stubborn donkey symbolizing persistence in the region’s steep vineyards, Cabeça de Burro is recognized for its elegance, complexity, and ageing capacity. It is produced with traditional Douro grape varieties and aged for 12 months in wooden vessels and at least 6 months in the bottle. The brand offers a range of white and red Reserva wines, as well as Bruto and Reserva Bruto sparkling wines.
