Region: D.O.C. Beira Interior
Sub-Region: Cova da Beira
Climate: Mediterranean with some continental influence
Soils: Non-humic lytolic, with slight granite texture
Concept: Produced in the countryside of Castelo Branco,
where the mountains meet the plains, in low fertility, deep
soils, therefore the ideal environment for the production of
high-quality grapes, vinified in a minimalist way, followed
by and ageing for 12 months in French oak barrels.
Grape Varieties: Touriga Nacional, Rufete, Cabernet
Sauvignon e Syrah.
Vinification: Hand-picked harvest for 15kg boxes.
Reception with total destemming and smooth crushing,
followed by a long maceration. Ageing in new and used
French oak barrels for 12 months.
Tasting Notes: It has an attractive aroma, with notes of
fruit that overlap the oak ones. It shows surprising acidity,
striking structure, light astringency and delicate retronasal
aroma that gives a long and seductive finish. A wine that
tastes more than the aroma!
Serving Temperature: 16-18ºC
Pairing Suggestions: Roasted meats, grilled meats,
oven-roasted sausages, pasta with tomato sauce.
