Sub-Region: Cova da Beira
Climate: Mediterranean with some continental influence
Soils: Non-humic lytolic, with slight granite texture
Concept: Produced in the countryside of Castelo Branco, where the mountains meet the plains, in low fertility, deep soils, therefore the ideal environment for the production of high-quality grapes, vinified in a minimalist way, followed by and ageing for 12 months in French oak barrels.
Grape Varieties: Arinto, Riesling, Chardonnay e Fernão Pires.
Vinification: Hand-picked harvest for 15kg boxes. Reception with total destemming and crushing with protection against early oxidation. Clarification by gravity in 18 hours. Fermentation made in new French oak barrels at a temperature of 20°C – 22°C followed by an ageing in the barrel for 12 months.
Tasting Notes: Citrus yellow colour and shiny appearance. The aroma is delicate, fresh and complex, with discreet notes of oak. In the taste, it surprises by the remarkable acidity, striking structure, creamy texture and a delicate retronasal aroma, that provide a long and attractive finish.
