Description
Endowed with a unique elegance, this is how the first Aguardente Vínica Velha in
the Tejo region was born. The vineyard was planted on poor, well-drained sandy
“charneca” soils.
VINIFICATION
This brandy was obtained by distilling wines made from the Fernão Pires grape variety,
harvested early to preserve all its acidity and freshness. As soon as the alcoholic fermentation
was complete, the wines were distilled and redistilled in a “Charantais” still by a master distiller
with decades of experience in this ancient type of distillation, so typical of the Cognac region in
France. After redistillation, the brandies were aged for around 20 years in 225-liter new
Limousin wood barrels, resulting in a product of great nobility.
TASTING NOTES
A peculiarly noble brandy, deep amber in color, with notes of dried fruit, a silky and enveloping
mouthfeel, with a long finish and enormous persistence, ideal for complementing the end of a
meal with all the refinement and pleasure.
CONSUMPTION SUGGESTIONS
It should be served in a balloon glass, preferably at a temperature between 16º and 18ºC
