Description
2019 was a year with some rain and intense cold in the month of March, which led to a low birth rate. With a warm spring, the grapes ripened earlier, which led to an earlier harvest. The white wine harvest began on August 26 and the red wines finished on September 26. It was a good year, with balanced acidity. Although the alcohol content was higher than the previous year, it still managed to maintain the freshness and elegance that characterize Quinta de Baixo wines. Lote D 2019 was vinified in stainless steel, where it fermented for 4/5 weeks, ending fermentation in a 2500 L old vat. Malolactic fermentation took place in the same vat, where it aged for 27 months. It was bottled unfiltered.
