Description

These grapes from the Sauvignon Blanc variety come from a high-altitude vineyard with a north-south orientation, located in the parish of Mateus, Vila Real. The vineyard is situated at an altitude of 450 meters and has a planting density of 5500 plants per hectare.
After fermentation, the wine continued its aging in the same ratio: 40% in French oak barrels / 60% in stainless steel tanks, until bottling. During part of the aging process, weekly bâtonnage was carried out, adding more structure and complexity to the wine. Bottling took place 10 months after the harvest.
This wine has a straw-yellow color. The exuberant aroma results from the harmonious fusion of tropical notes of pineapple, grapefruit, and guava with riper notes, such as peach or even quince, which blend seamlessly with herbaceous hints of asparagus and freshly cut grass. On the palate, the full fruitiness of the grape variety is confirmed, with a surprising connection to the oak in which it aged. The finish is long, displaying great persistence and complexity.
