29 years after we bought Herdade Monte da Ribeira, in Reguengos de Monsaraz, which belongs to Adega José de Sousa, in 2015 we decided to plant Syrah to see the potential of this grape variety in that granite soil. As the vineyard is very close to the Alqueva, the vineyard is irrigated using rain water stored in a small weirfed by rain water and a stream, which means that drip irrigation is very small. However, the 8-year oldvines (still young) show great potential for quality.
