Description
Type of wine
White wine made from grapes of Alvarinho
variety from a vineyard planted above
200 meters of altitude. The vine, with
more than 15 years old, has low production
with high levels of acidity and good
maturation. A wine made “the old way”
with total fermentation on skins, with
more color and more tannin.
Key points
Selected harvest (only the bunches from
the more matured spurs are selected).
Handpicked grapes into small boxes and
carried to the winery in a short period of
time. Half of the batch undergoes total
fermentation on skins. The other half
ferments with the whole bunch of grapes
non de-stemmed. After the fermentation
the batches are joined in French oak
barrels where they undergo a 9 months
ageing with regular bâtonnage.
Tasting notes
Deep gold color typical from the skin
fermentation. Strong intensity of aromas
where caramelized orange skin and hints
of floral notes. On the palate, soft tannin
with a beautiful structure side by side with
a pronounced and stressed acidity.
