Furada is a Quinta owned by the same family for seven generations. Descendants of Valério Augusto de Sousa, born in 1888, continue the legacy. Valério expanded the estate by acquiring 24 lots from neighboring owners, compensating for losses from the Filoxera disease in the Douro. The name “Furada” reflects ancient excavations on the property, dating back to Roman times in search of precious metals. Today, the Quinta holds secrets, stories, and flavors, with its prized grapes and olives giving life to Pata D’Urso Douro Wines, Furada Ports, and Furada Olive Oil.
