Quinta da Lapa

Tejo

About

Quinta da Lapa, one of the oldest estates in the “Tejo” region, was acquired in 1706 by D. Lourenço de Almeida, son of the Count of Avintes. In a unique spot, the wines are crafted so that they translate the uniqueness of Quinta da Lapa’s terroir in all its aspects.
Favorable micro-climatic conditions that have to do with its proximity to the sea and the fact that it lies beside a mountain, impart our wines with outstanding freshness, perfect maturing conditions and an exceptional aging potential.
With Quinta da Lapa being the ideal berth for terroir wines, our first and foremost care is placed on the vineyard.
Our 72 ha of vineyards are divided into plots and grape varietals. Plots are established in order to profit from the best sun exposure and achieve perfect berry ripening. As a result of the nearly constant breeze that sweeps through the estate’s rolling hills, we are able to sustain healthy, clean and aerated vines all year round.
