Herdade da Calada

Founded in 1854 by the Duke of Lancaster’s descendants, Herdade da Calada has unusual characteristics, due to the excellent style of its buildings. In the winery, the grapes are transported only by means of gravity. No pumps are used at this stage, in order to preserve the maximum quality produced in the vineyard. This careful vinification produces very complex wines, with natural aromas, which reflect the unique and typical character of the native grape varieties and the property itself.
