Our philosophy is simple: to create authentic wines that faithfully reflect their origins. Focusing only on traditional Bairrada grape varieties, we work exclusively with Baga, Bical, Arinto, Cercial and Maria Gomes. The vineyard is our priority, and we abandoned the use of herbicides early on in favor of soil health and biodiversity in the vineyard. Thanks to ongoing research into the surrounding plants, the forest and some other plants grown in our backyard, we now use around 15 different plants in our Biodynamic preparations. In the winery, intervention is minimal: the grapes are selected in the vineyard, we ferment with indigenous yeasts and use ancestral methods such as wooden lagares and amphorae. The evolution of the wine is rigorously monitored so that each wine expresses the authenticity of our old vines. Ultimately, we create “Terroir” wines, bringing together knowledge, art and nature to produce “without make-up”, each wine with its own character.
