Herdade do Perú

The history of Herdade do Perú dates back to 1715 when the King of King João V and his wife Queen Maria Anne of Austria visited the palace of António Cremer and his wife Catarina Sofia Cremer Van Zeller in the former ‘Sítio do Perum’, vineyard land with a wine press and later a wine cellar.

The Cremer family came to Portugal at the invitation of the Marquis of Pombal, with the task and responsibility of managing the Gunpowder Kingdom.

After the current owner’s grandparents continued this long legacy in the last century, in 2017 he decided to replant vineyards and resume production sustainably, in honor of this blessed land and the proud history of this estate and family.
